Effects When any person consumes an exaggerated amount of food, it may follow with bad consequences. The effect may consist of weight loss, malnutrition, weariness, mental impairment, and even death and/or physical development. It has been proven that malnutrition and dehydration can be caused by dysfunctional parent-child mealtime. In severe cases, the need of medical doctors is necessary and an enteral feeding tube has to be placed via nasogastric or gastronomy.
